Gujarat govt announces new Wind Power policy for five year

Gandhinagar: Gujarat government today announced wind power policy 2016 for the period of next five years. According to energy minister Saurabh Patel, electricity generated through wind power will be exempted from electricity duty. Those using wind power and generate it on their own will be exempted from cross subsidy surcharge and additional surcharge. It wind power generated is sold to third party then there will be 50% discount on cross subsidy surcharge and additional surcharge. Wheeling charge and distribution losses over 11 kv transmission will attract 50% relief if generated wind power is used for self. GEDA will be a nodal agency for implementation of this policy. All incentives under this policy will be available for those using new plant machinery.
