Gujarat Police solves Junagadh journalist murder case and Dharpur doctor kidnapping case

Ahmedabad: Patrakar Ketan Dave was killed at Jayhind-Sanj Samachar newspaper office in Junagadh not due to any journalistic reasons but due to what can be termed as his “extra curriculum activities”.

As per primary details arriving, Dave was into travel business and had three buses in partnership with Firoz.

Firoz Hala, Arif Saiyad and Sanjay Rathod are three accused who have been arrested in this incident.

Dave was brutally murdered with knife attacks. His brother had suspected the role of former BJP minister’s son in this case.

However the detection has catered completely different angle with no BJP leader son involved and absolutely nothing to do with journalism in this case.

Police today organized a press conference and shared details of the case with media persons.

In another success, two accused from Mehsana namely Hitesh and Kalpesh Patel are held in Dr Rajesh Mehta kidnapping case. As per primary details arriving one Patel is from Ahmedabad while the other is from Unjha town of north Gujarat. They had kidnapped Dr Rajesh Mehta of Dharpur medical college in north Gujarat, tied his hands and blindfolded him. They took Mehta to five different places. Police didn’t reveal details of the location from where Dr Mehta was found. Police said Dr Mehta was kidnapped for ransom of Rs 2 crore but the message couldn’t reach his family. Dr Mehta was kidnapped six days back. Dr Mehta has been released after 48-hour operation by Ahmedabad city police crime branch and Anti Terrorist Squad joined by local police. Both accused arrested have criminal track record. One of them was driver of Dr Mehta. Family however is not ready to accept that kidnap was done for ransom. The family believes that there are many crorepatis in Unjha town itself, then why Dr Mehta was selected for this crime? According to police the accused had lost huge amount of money in satta betting and therefore they had committed this crime.
