Sabarmati River Front West Drive named as Pramukh Swami road, CM makes announcement

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani today made announcement that Sabarmati River Front West river drive road will be named after Shri Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
The West drive riverside road located parallel to Ashram Road is 6 km in length and connects Vadaj Chandrabhaga locality to Vasna in West Ahmedabad.
Construction of this road was completed last year.
Rupani made announcement to name this road after Pramukh Swami in a Memorial programme for Pramukh Swami held at Gujarat University convention hall in GMDC ground in presence of BAPS president Shri Mahant Swami, entire top rank of BAPS saints, industrialists including Shri Parimal Nathwai, Sudhir Mehta and Shri Samveg Lalbhai, Mahant of Ahmedabad Jagannath Mandir Dilipdasji Maharaj, Vaishnavacharya, Mahamaldeshwar Bharti Bapu, Mayor of Ahmedabad Shri Gautam Shah, MoS Home Shri Pradipsinhji Jadeja, representatives from various faiths, architect BV Doshi, Doctor Tejas Patel, Chartered Accountant Mr Talati, Congress leader Siddharth Patel among others.
After Pramukh Swami’s passing away last month, Rupani had named a newly built state-of-the art auditorium in Rajkot city built by Rajkot Municipal Corporation(RMC) after Pramukh Swami. In Vadodara, a new over bridge had also named after Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
Rupani in his speech said that Gujarat Assembly which had in the past on very few occasions witnessed a motion paying tribute to someone who’s not politician, this time passed such motion for Shri Pramukh Swami Maharaj last month post his passing away. He said Pramukh Swami had done lot for Gujarat.
