Surat: A few months ago, a car was spotted in Surat. It had so-called quota stir leader Hardik Patel’s sticker over it. Then on one day the car suddenly was caught in fire. The car belonged to one Dineshbhai who has now issued a press statement, core part of which is translated into English here:

I am Dinesh Patel from Katargamin Surat. I am here before the media with much pain. I was believing so-called leader Hardik Patel as leader of our community. I had hope that Hardik would avail reservation quota to Patidar community. But with great pain I have to say that instead of availing quota to Patidar community, Hardik is only interested in his own publicity and his ambitions.

I have great feelings for Patidar community and therefore during entire quota agitation I had participated actively. I used to meet Hardik Patel often during the agitation. He had told me to do his publicity and asked me to prepare four cars with Hardik’s stickers and slogans over it to move them in four zones of Gujarat – north Gujarat, south Gujarat, central Gujarat and Saurashtra. As Hardik asked me to do this, I was energized but I was not economically capable and therefore I started propaganda through one car. Later the car was moved across entire Gujarat. Hardik had told that he would give expenses for it. Hardik had asked me that I should do as per instructions of his uncle Vipulkaka.

As Hardik was in jail his Vipulkaka had called me to meet and told me that Hardik had instructed him to torch the car so that news may go viral about car with Hardik’s photo was torched by someone and hurt by this Patidar youths will make such thousands of cars and our task will be done for free of cost and Hardik will get superb publicity across Gujarat. Vipulkaka also told me that Hardik had conveyed him I will get money as soon as he come out of jail. Later when Hardik was released on bail, I went to Udaipur to meet Hardik in person and demanded the money for car and its expenses. He told me that way would be found in a week or so, and I should not worry about it. Money will be arranged through Surat. However nothing such has happened so far. I have called Hardik for money countless times, but he doesn’t reply me. I am facing economical problems. I can’t understand that on one side Hardik has crores of Rupees of fund of Patidar community and he is living luxurious life, then on the other hand why he does harass me? I haven’t visited my place in Surat for last three months.I move outside and Hardik doesn’t give me reply. Therefore I have approached media.

Additionally through the media I want to tell that youths from Patidar community, sentimental like me should be aware that they don’t face any case and their emerging career is not ruined. They should not waste their career for ambitious leader like Hardik.
