PM likely to arrive at Navsari in South Gujarat on or a day before his birthday

Surat: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is likely to visit Gujarat on or day before his birthday which is on September 17th. There’s no official word however so far on this.

Under the guidance of Navsari district collector in south Gujarat, with the help of Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) team, over 11,000 divyang(handicapped or specially abled) persons were registered and over 8,000 divyang persons were found suitable for Central government assistance worth Rs 7 crore. After Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, Navsari in Gujarat has been the second district in India that has received success of this scale in assessment camp for divyang persons.

As many as 11 assessment camps were organized in last June by Navsari district collector in cooperation with ALIMCO. About 8,000 were registered during the process. 5,142 were given assistance worth Rs 3,71,65,223 for equipment.

A 5-day mega camp was organized at Navsari based Matiya Patidar vaadi in cooperation with three teams of ALIMCO in the month of August under the guidance of district collector. More than 4,000 divyang persons were registered and 3,300 were finalized after scrutiny for government assistance.

Under the guidance of Navsari district collector Shri Ravikumar, both assessment camps in total registered 11,495 divyang persons, of which 8,742 were finalized for central government assistance. They will get assistance worth Rs 6,93,89,738.

During the camps, 909 divyang persons were given certificates, 238 were given Adhar card, 597 were given income certificate while 1519 were given scholarship under the state government scheme and 1256 were given bus passes.

When assessment file of such magnitude reached Prime Minister’s office, he was impressed. In this connection he may arrive at Navsari on 16th or 17th of September.
