Hooch tragedy: Five IPS transferred, Shamsher Singh, Nirlipt Rai moved to Surat Range

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat today transferred IPS officers “in the public interest with immediate effect”. The officers are instructed to take charge on or before 14th September 11.00 am which is tomorrow. They have to report the government for same.
Keshav Kumar who is on waiting period after returning from CBI is posted as Special Director, Anti Corruption Bureau Ahmedabad replacing Dr Shamsher Singh.
Dr Shamsher Singh, Additional Director, Anti Corruption Bureau Ahmedabad has been shifted to the post of Inspector General(IG) of Police, Surat Range replacing Narsimha Komar. Worth noting here that Surat range police functioning is facing various allegations following hooch tragedy that has taken toll of 18 persons.
In a punishment posting following hooch tragedy in Surat(Rural), IPS Narsimha Komar has been shifted fro Surat range to Jamnagar as IG, Marine Task Force Commander replacing Nirja Gotaru Rao who was holding additional charge of this post.
Superintendent of Police(SP) Ahmedabad Rural Nirlipt Rai has been shifted the post of SP Surat(Rural) replacing Mayur Chavda.
Mayur Chavda, SP Surat(Rural) has been transferred and appointed on the vacant ex-cadre post of SP, IB Gandhinagar.
