10 PAAS activists detained in Mahesana near BJP office

Mahesana: Around 10 protesters of PAAS were today detained by police in Pilaji Ganj area of Mahesana city in North Gujarat while they were trying to disrupt an event of the ruling BJP in presence of its state president Jeetu Vaghani at its district headquarters here.
The 10 protesters, all said to be residents of Visnagar, started shouting slogan as soon as Mr Vaghani reached the office at around 10 am.
Police detained all of them immediately. PAAS convener of North Gujarat Narendra Patel has announced to protest against Mr Vaghani’s visit to Mahesana to oppose the police action against its activist in Bhavnagar.
Mr Vaghani is in Mahesana today in connection with a workers meet there.
He first held a meeting in the party’s district head office and is scheduled to attend the district workers meet at Doodh Sagar Dairy Auditorium.
Meanwhile the pre-planned bike rally of the BJP here was cancelled owing to late arrival of Mr Vaghani in the wake of a sudden engagement in capital Gandhinagar.
