Gujarat ATS nabs two Pakistani spies in border district Kutch

Bhuj/Ahmedabad: Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Gujarat police today nabbed two Pakistani spies, who used to pass sensitive military information of the Indian armed forces to the ISI.

The traitors were caught from near the bus stand in Bhuj, the headquarter town of Kutch district bordering Pakistan, ATS SP Himanshu Shukla said.

Alana Sama (30) resident of Shekh Pir area near Kukama village of Bhuj and Shakur Ibrahim Sumara (37) resident of Khavda area of the district which is quite close to the Pakistan border were nabbed this evening on a tip off, Mr Shukla said.

‘The duo worked as ISI agents and used to pass sensitive information regarding movement of Indian forces to Pakistan,’ he said adding that they were nabbed in a joint operation with the West Kutch police.

He said that some documents including their passports have been siezed from them however no weapon has been recovered.

Meanwhile SP West Kutch Makrand Chauhan said that the nabbed duo had passed the information regarding the army movement to the ISI over phone. They were under watch for the past 24 hours. They will be investigated by various agencies.

Mr Shukla informed that the duo is being brought to Ahmedabad.

Meanwhile it is learnt that one of them had also visited Pakistan several times.
