Failed to control ‘small’ Delhi, Kejriwal trying to mislead people of Gujarat: Nitin Patel

Rajkot: Claiming that AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal had failed to control a very small state like Delhi as Chief Minister and was now trying to mislead the people of Gujarat which was well led, prosperous and a development model for the rest of the country, Deputy Chief Minister and Senior BJP leader Nitin Patel today said that Kerjriwal’s visit would not have any impact on the ‘wise’ people of this state.

Talking to newsmen here Mr Patel said, ‘Kejriwal is CM of Delhi where the administration is in very poor state. There is no development and he had not fulfilled the promises he made to the people during his election campaign there. Many of his ministers and MLAs have been found involved in various corruption cases and showed characterless behaviour. Even the court has punished his ministers.’

‘Now this man who could not handle a small state like Delhi is trying to mislead the people of Gujarat who already know that they were fully secured in the BJP regime under which the state has seen prosperity and development. The development journey started during the regime of the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi has made Gujarat a model for other states,’ he said.

He said that Kejriwal, who was on a four day visit of Gujarat from today, had visited the state many times in the past and his party had contested many elections in the state including assembly polls without any success.

‘Every one is free to come to this state and especially when the assembly elections are going to be held next year, leaders of many political parties are doing so to gain political benefit but as the people of Gujarat are wise they won’t be mislead by them. Kejriwal is also free to come to Gujarat as many times as he wishes but it won’t make any difference,’ Mr Patel said.

Kejriwal will address a public meeting in Surat on October 16 which his party has termed as the beginning of his formal election campaign in Gujarat for 2017 assembly polls.
