Gandhinagar: Gujarat govt will purchase groundnut on support price from farmers post Labh Pancham. Agriculture minister Chimanbhai Saparia made this announcement today in capital Gandhinagar. He said government plans to purchase more than one lakh metric tonne groundnut. Lastly such purchase was made in 2013 through NAFED. The minister said government will allocate Rs 100 crore from its fund to ensure that farmers get support price for groundnut. Of this Rs 25 crore will be handed over to NAFED on primary basis for quick start of purchase. Overall ground nut will be procured at various centers across the state through NAFED and GUJCOT.
