IDMC’s sixth unit inaugurated near Anand

Anand: The sixth unit of Indian Dairy Machinery Company Ltd, (IDMC) which manufactures dairy equipment and components, was today inaugurated.

To meet the rapidly growing demand for its dairy equipment and services, IDMC has invested around Rs. 16 crore to set up the unit at Vagashi, close to the Anand. Chairman and Managing Director, National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), Dilip Rath inaugurated the unit today.

Unit 6 is spread over 10,000 square metres and houses three plants, one each for production of Bulk Milk Coolers (BMC), manufacture of control panels and assembly of milking machines. The Unit has a dedicated modern warehouse.

The new BMC plant can annually manufacture about 1200 BMCs with capacities ranging from 0.5 to 10 kilo liters . The plant for manufacturing control panels will meet the requirements of automatic and semi-automatic control systems for stand alone food and pharma equipment and for providing central control solutions in processing
plants. It also has facilities for providing hands-on training on process automation systems. The plant for assembly of milking machines will be able to deliver different types of milking machines such as mobile, fixed, single and multiple buckets.

Managing Director, IDMC i Ravi Shankar, MD, GCMMF R S Sodhi, ,MD, Kaira Milk Union Dr Rathnam and senior officers from the NDDB were also present on the occasion.

IDMC was incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of NDDB in 1992. A significant part of IDMC’s growth has been through the manufacture and sale of equipment and the Design, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning (DSITC) of projects in the dairy, cattle feed, pharmaceuticals, beverages sectors and Thermal Management Systems.
