Fadnavis pays tributes to Sardar Patel on birth anniversary

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today paid tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Home Minister, on the occasion of his 141st birth anniversary, which is also observed as National Unity Day.
“Paid humble tributes to one of the greatest leaders Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary,” he said in a tweet.
Fadnavis joined Governor Vidyasagar Rao to administer pledge of national integration and later flagged off ‘Run for Unity’ in south Mumbai.
The run, organised by the Mumbai City Collectorate on the occasion of Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary, saw participation of hundreds of youths and students.
It started from NCPA in south Mumbai and ended at the Grant Medical College Gymkhana Ground, covering a distance of around three km.
Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal, Mumbai Mayor Snehal Ambekar and Mumbai City Collector Ashwini Joshi were prominent among those present on the occasion.
