Verdict in favour of BJP from all four zones, across various classes of voters: Pandya

Gandhinagar: Gujarat BJP spokesperson Bharat Pandya today speaking to DeshGujarat said the results of local polls in Gujarat reflect support of people to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s demonetisation move.

Pandya said, “total 126 seats in Gujarat witnessed elections, of which 125 were contested by BJP. Candidates of BJP are victorious on 109 seats. BJP has won Vapi municipality, Kanakpur municipality and Gondal taluka panchayat with clear majority.

Shri Pandya said, “if we analyse the results, the verdict in favour of BJP has come from rural as well as urban areas across all four zones of Gujarat. There were places where Muslim voters were majority, at some other places tribal or Patidar voters were in majority. At many places voters were from poor, middle and agricultural class. If we look at today’s results through these angles, BJP’s victory is significant and today’s results are important.”

On opposition Congress party that has faced massive setback in today’s election results Pandya in reference to Congress party’s recent agitation programme titled as ‘Jan Akrosh’ said, “Congress caters negativity through its various programmes. People of Gujarat have expressed aakrosh(anger) against Congress’s Jan Akrosh(people’s anger) rally. For BJP and also for people of Gujarat this was ‘Janadhar(people’s support)’ day.

Pandya said people’s support to BJP has been converted into people’s verdict today. The verdict clearly indicates again that Gujarat stands by all decisions that are good for the nation, being taken under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
