WASTECH 2016 International Summit & Expo to be held in Gujarat during from December 2-4

Gandhinagar: Ahead of the 8th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017 that will focus on connecting India to the world, “Wastech 2016: International Summit & Expo” will be held at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar from December 2-4, 2016 to promote sustainable development in the state using the 4R principle in waste management— reduce, recover, recycle and reuse.

This is being organized by the Forests and Environment Department, Government of Gujarat, Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) and CII in association with KPMG and World Bank Group as Knowledge Partners and Radeecal Communications as Exhibition Partner.

The 2-day international summit scheduled from December 3-4, 2016, will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Vijaybhai Rupani on December 3, 2016. This will comprise a mix of international and national speakers and delegates. A total of 13 sessions including the inaugural and valedictory sessions are expected to attract participation from government agencies, industries, academia, waste management companies, consultants, vendors/suppliers, researchers, leading trade organizations and scientific foundations.

The 3-day International Expo from December 2-4, 2016 will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Nitinbhai Patel on December 2, 2016. The exhibition is expected to attract participation from pollution control equipment manufacturers, water and waste water management companies, water treatment and waste recycling technology companies, environmental professionals, industry associations, research and development and environmental consultants.

The summit aims to be “Zero Waste”, whereby the different forms of waste generated during the course of the event will be collected and recycled. B2B & B2G meetings will be held and details of the summit & expo will be displayed “on-the-go” at your finger-tips through a dedicated mobile app that will detail the list of all the dignitaries, speakers, delegates participating in the Summit, the details of ongoing sessions with speaker, topic and venue and the snippets of the speech of prominent speakers.

Several publications will be released. These include a Zero Liquid Discharge Manual prepared by IAAD & GPCB, Standard Operating Procedures under Rule – 9 of the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Trans-boundary Movement) Rules, 2016 and BREF (Best Available Techniques Reference Guidance Document).

A short film on Innovations in Environmental sector of Gujarat will be featured.

Day 2: December 4, 2016
