L&T to build world’s largest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad: Nathwani hands over the Letter of Acceptance for works

Ahmedabad: Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium popularly known as Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad is all set for makeover.
A stage is set for construction of the stadium in line with dream of Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi under the leadership of President of Gujarat Cricket Association and National President of the BJP Shri Amitbhai Shah.
Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) Vice President Shri Parimal Nathwani today handed over a Letter of Acceptance to L&T, India’s premier engineering construction company in a simple ceremony held at Ahmedabad. Shri M.V. Satish, Whole-time Director & Senior Executive Vice President of L&T accepted the letter from GCA vice president.
GCA’s Joint Secretary Shri Jay Shah and Treasurer Shri Dhiraj Jogani remained present during the ceremony. GCA Joint Secretaries Shri Bharat Dudhia and Shri Mehul Patel as well as GCA Executive Member and CBCA president Shri Bharat Jhaveri and officials of GCA and L&T were among others who attended the function.
In the meantime, the demolition work of the old stadium has already been completed. The ground is ready to be handed over to the construction company. The new stadium, when completed, will be the largest cricket stadium in the world with the international class comparable to Melbourne Cricket Stadium in Australia.
Cricketing fraternity and lovers of the game are excited about the latest development and eagerly await to see the day when the new stadium appear on horizon of Ahmedabad as a bright sports venue.
GCA will soon be sharing further details about the particulars of the new stadium.
