Modi to address rally of over 2 lakh in Deesa today, visit Gujarat BJP Headquarters first time as PM

Gandhinagar/Palanpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be on his fifth visit to Gujarat, his home state, in last four months and first post demonetization tomorrow will be in the BJP state headquarters at Koba near capital Gandhinagar for the first time after his becoming prime minister in May 2014.

Mr Modi will arrive at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad at around 10.00 am and will move to Deesa town of Banaskantha district in north Gujarat where he will be inaugurating cheese and whey making facilities of Banas dairy and dedicate some other plants and products.

He will also be addressing a meeting at the Deesa airport ground which is likely to be attended by over 2 lakh people including large number of farmers, milk producers and cooperative leaders.

BJP state spokesperson Bharat Pandya said that Mr Modi will come to party state headquarters from Deesa to address a congregation of party office bearers up to district level.

‘It will be the first visit of the PM to Srikamalam, the party headquarter, post his becoming the prime minister. He will address and guide the team Gujarat of the party,’ Mr Pandya said adding that the PM will return to Delhi the same day. He also said that BJP national president Amit Shah, who is also an MLA of Gujarat assembly, will not be present there owing to other occupancy as party chief.

Mr Modi, himself, had inaugurated the newly built party headquarter in February 2014 as the then chief minister and the Prime Ministerial candidate of BJP. Mr Pandya said that it was the place where the strategies of the party’s overwhelming win in all the 26 Loksabha segments were made. It was also an important place to manage the popular 3D image election rallies of Mr Modi across Gujarat.

Notably it will be first visit of the PM to Gujarat post demonetization as well. He is likely to raise this issue in his address in the Deesa rally as well as in the meeting in Srikamalam.

It will be in all the fifth visit of the PM since August 15 this year when he had made a flash visit to Saragpur in Botad to pay tribute to the mortal body of Pramukh Swami who had left for heavenly abode.

Later on August 30, he had dedicated an important water supply project SAUNI meant to replenish the dams of Saurashtra with excess water in Narmada dam. On the occasion he had said that he would be visiting Gujarat more often in the future. Notably, assembly polls in Gujarat will also be held in the later half of next year.

Mr Modi had celebrated his birthday on September 17 with tribal and physically challenged people in Dahod and Navsari. He had also visited Gandhinagar.

On October 22 he had inaugurated the newly constructed international terminal building of Vadodara airport.

Palanpur based Banas dairy has set up cheese plant and whey powder plant at a cost of Rs 350 crore. Along with these plants, the Prime Minister tomorrow will also launch A-2 milk Kankrej cow milk project, Banas honey project, Kankrej cow breed conservation project, start of Late Galbabhai Nanjibhai Patel birth century year, start of Banas Dairy golden jubilee year celebration, start of Galbabhai Nanjibhai Patel Charitable Trust, 100 tdp powder plant at Palanpur.

Cheese plant has daily 30 mt production capacity. It will produce processed and mozzarella cheese which will be marketed under Amul brand and also be exported abroad. The whey plant has 40 mt/day capacity. Two powder products are to be produced in it which will also be used as raw material for other products.
