Correspondent, Mahesana (Gujarat): Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi today claimed that he was in possession of official documents seized by the Income Tax department in which it was mentioned that Sahara and Birala groups had given crores of rupees to him when he was the chief minister of Gujarat.

Rahul demanded an explanation from the Prime Minister and constituting of an independent inquiry in to the matter.

Adressing the Navsarjan Gujarat rally here today he claimed that he was not allowed to speak in the parliament and Mr Modi was not facing him in the house owing to this reason.

Rahul chose this rally in Gujarat, the home state of the Prime Minister, to make the sensational allegations. He had earlier made claims that he was having solid proof of personal corruption of the PM and if he revealed it in the parliament there will be an earthquake of sorts. He was being criticized for his silence after this remark.

Addressing the rally he said that during an IT raid on Sahara group dated November 22, 2014 such records were seized in which it was mentioned that Mr Modi was given Rs 2.5 crore on October 30, 2013, Five crore on November 12, 2013, Rs 2.5 crore on November 27, 2013 and Rs Five crore each time on November 29, December 6, 2013, January 13 and 14 and 28 and February 22, 2014.

‘It is all in the Income tax record and singed by IT officials. In 6 months the people from Sahara, which is a big company , had marked in their diary to have paid nine times to Mr Modi. The matter has not been investigated in the last two and a half years. Now he should tell the nation as to what is the truth. This is an allegation against the Prime Minister which should be investigated. The matter does not end here as in another such computerized Income tax record related to a raid on Birla group an amount of Rs 25 crore has been mentioned in front of the then Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi’s name and it is written that of it Rs 12 crore had been delivered and a question mark has been left for the remaining amount,’ He said.

I on behalf of the honest people of the nation want an explanation from Modi ji about it. He should tell the nation himself whether it is correct or not.
Earlier he reiterated his allegations against Mr Modi on the issue of demonetization and said that the whole move was meant to write off the Rs 8 lakh crore of the NPA bank loans of the 50 rich people by compelling the 99% honest and poor people to put their money for six seven months in the banks. It is not a surgical strike but like a careless fire bombing of word war era which has affected the 99% honest people who are standing in queues. Mr Vaghela recently told me that Mr Modi has the ability to turn anything in to a mega event with his planning. The demonetization is one such example which was first linked with black money, then terrorism and in turn to fake notes and now to cash-less economy which will also make people cough up at least 5 % to the richer people on any cashless transaction. The people would have not let their money remain in the bank for the benefit of the rich people if restrictions on withdrawal were not imposed.

The government has waived off Rs 40000 crore of loan of 15 Industrialists but was not doing so for farmers even though they were committing suicide on daily basis. The government and its policies had made the 60 % money of the country to go in the hands of mere 1 % rich people and majority of it has gone to the 50 people who travel to countries like Australia, China and the US with the PM. The government was not doing anything to bring Vijay Malya and Lalit Modi from London. The government knows and it was truth that most of the black money was lying in foreign bank accounts and despite having the list of such accounts the government was not making the names of the ‘thieves’ public. We must also understand that all the cash is not black money and all the black money is not cash. Only 6 % of it according to government is cash. Rest 94% is in gold, realty and foreign bank accounts.

Rahul also raised the issue of Patidar reservation agitaion in the rally here a well known bastion of the community and said that the children and women of the community were beaten with lathis and opened fire upon even though they were doing peaceful agitation. The Dalits in the state were also living in fears. He also alleged that Mr Modi had run the government of selected few in Gujarat and was now doing the same with around 15 people in Delhi. He also alleged that various industrial sectors in Gujarat were in a poor plight.
