Flower Park at Sabarmati Riverfront to open this week in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Rs 18 crore flower park developed by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation on over 1 lakh square ft area at Sabarmati Riverfront upper promenade just behind V.S.hospital and Tagore hall will be inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on January 3. While entry to this park will be free during 3-13 January for visitors, the entry post 13 January may cost Rs 20. This is very appreciable decision by AMC because provision of fee will regulate the entry of people and contribute to better upkeep of garden. An artificial water body, terrace garden, greenery in various shapes are some of the unique features in this garden.

Update: Located between Vivekanand bridge and Riverfront Event centre on upper promenade, the flower park is spread over 38,500 square meter space, for which work began on 15 December 2014. The park has been developed at a cost of Rs 18.75 crore. Maximum area of flower park is occupied with various types of flowers. The park has attractive entrance and landscape around water body. Designer green house and food court are other facilities in flower park. Entry garden, free entry area, flower valley, lake area, liner garden, pavilion garden, rose garden, color lief garden, fragrance garden, cactus garden, showcase garden, conservatory, triangular park, amfi theater, children play area are other highlights of the garden.
