Anurag Thakur removed as BCCI chief

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today removed Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Anurag Thakur(BJP MP in Lok Sabha) and Secretary Ajay Shirke from their respective positions in the case regarding reforms in the BCCI as per the Lodha committee recommendations. The Supreme Court also issued contempt notice to Anurag Thakur. A committee of administrator will look after the affairs of BCCI.Senior advocates Fali Nariman and Gopal Subramaniam will assist the Supreme Court in nominating persons of “impeccable integrity” as the members of committee of administrators.Senior-most Vice President of the BCCI will act as President and Joint Secretary in the interim period and will look into the affairs of Secretary’s office.Further hearing is scheduled on January 19.
