Nadabet to host 4th Ashwa Mahotsav with 500 horses as participants

Palanpur: As may as 500 horses will take part in fourth edition of Ashwa Mahotsav(horse festival) during 10-11-12 January at Nadabet border of Banaskantha district in Gujarat. The mahotsav had started four years ago with just 35 horses. Local district administration, animal husbandry department, tourism department, Suraksha Setu Society, Border Security Force, Border People’s Welfare Society etc are involved in organizing this event.
A three-day national level Horse Festival 2017 will showcase decorated horses, dancing horses, jumping, patidaud, revachal, long horse endurance, barrel race, match for, camel run, bullock cart run, breed show, weapon’s exhibition by BSF, dayro, cultural show etc.
A separate tent city will be erected on this occasion in the Rann of Kutch with temporary hospital, police, animal husbandry department, tourism offices, 108 ambulance van and animal ambulance.
Many visitors are likely to visit the event in connection with growing interest in border tourism.
