Rs 54 lakh cash, all in 2000 notes, found in car from UP, 3 nabbed in Gujarat

Palanpur: Cash worth Rs 54 lakhs, all in Rs 2000 denominations, was recovered from a car coming from Uttar Pradesh at Amirgadh check-post in Banaskantha district of North Gujarat today, police said.
Three people including two young businessman from Harthras in UP have been nabbed in this connection.
PSI of Amirgadh K Y Vyas said that the cash was recovered from the car during a routine check. Sachin Agrwal and Nitin Agrwal, two young businessman from Hathras and their driver Manish have been nabbed. They have claimed that they were going to participate in an expo in Ahmedabad.
‘They could not give any satisfactory reply about the large amount of cash found in their vehicle primary interrogation. We have seized the 27 bundles (2700) notes of Rs 2000 and Income Tax department has been informed about the seizure. The matter is being further investigated,’ the PSI said.
Amirgadh check-post is situated near Rajasthan border.
