MRF to set up Rs 4500 crore plant in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Well known tyre manufacturing company MRF(Madras Rubber Factory Limited) will invest Rs 4500 crore in Gujarat for its proposed green field manufacturing project, memorandum of understanding(MoU) for which was signed with Gujarat govt arm Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation(GIDC) today during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit – 2017.
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani held one-to-one meeting with MRF group president K.M. Mammen in State capital Gandhinagar and welcomed the company to Gujarat. MRF is among world’s top 20 tyre and rubber manufacturing firms. The Chief Minister gave assurance to grant all needed permissions to MRF for its upcoming plant which is going to be set up at Vagra in Bharuch district of Central Gujarat with one million monthly tyre production capacity. The proposed unit will provide employment to 2,500 youths.
