Vibrant Gujarat Summit: Saudi Arabia signs Rs 7,000 crore MoUs

Gandhinagar: Gujarat govt arm Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizer Corporation(GNFC) and Saudi Arabia today signed Rs 455 crore Memorandums of Understanding(MoUs) to set up two power projects at coastal Dahej town in Central Gujarat. While one power plant will be 40 MW, the other will be 100 MW. MoUs worth Rs 540 crore were signed with Saudi Arabia in animal feed and IT sectors. Another Rs 6000 crore pacts were signed in petrochemicals sector.
According to Gujarat govt note issued here, total Rs 7,000 crore MoUs are signed in various sectors between Saudi Arabia and Gujarat which shall generate employment for 3,000 persons.
These MoUs were signed in presence of Saudi India Business Council Chairman Kama Al Mazood.
Speaking in this seminar, Saudi Arabia’s India based ambassador Saud Alsati said, Islamic Bank will be set up here in the month of May this year.The statement doesn’t mention the location of Islamic Bank.
