Ahmedabad: Hundreds of job aspiring youths today tried to create ruckus in front of the ‘soon to be operational’ car manufacturing plant of Maruti-Suzuki situated in Hansalpur under Vitthalapur police station of Ahmedabad district.
PI of Vitthhalapur Shobna N Parmar said that around 600 youths assembled near the plant after reading a ‘false’ message regarding job in the plant on whatsapp.
‘The message initially posted on a whatsapp group claimed that large number of jobs for ITI trained persons were opened at the plant and the recruitment will start today. Five to six hundred youths, many from faraway places had reached the plant site in the hope of getting a job, however, when they were told that the company has not advertised any such job opening, some of them become furious. They started slogan shouting and tried to jam the approach road to the plant but police controlled the situation,’ the PI said.
‘We are trying to nab the one who had circulated the false message,’ she said.
Notably the plant with a total annual manufacturing capacity of 7.5 lakh cars will have three units of 2.5 lakh capacity each. First unit is expected to start production soon.
Toshihiro Suzuki, President Suzuki Motor Corporation during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit recently had said that the plant will start production from next month.
