Adani power registers Rs 325 crores net loss in Q3

Ahmedabad: Adani Power Ltd, the largest private thermal power producer in India, has registered a net loss of Rs 325 crores in the third quarter of the current fiscal, the company in its financial results declared today said.

It had registered a net profit of Rs 104 core in the corresponding quarter of the last year.

Adani Power Ltd, a part of Adani Group, today announced the financial results for the quarter ended December 31 during which the consolidated total income has also reduced marginally to Rs5,873 crores compared to Rs.6,211 crores in the corresponding quarter in previous year largely on account of lower plant load factor (PLF).

Finance costs have increased from Rs. 1,318 crore in Q3FY16 to Rs. 1,430 crore in Q3FY17 on account of higher working capital utilization and impact of mark to market on foreign currency derivatives, the statement said.

The Company sold 14.9 billion units in Q3FY17 Vs 16.6 billion units in Q3FY16 and its overall plant availability during Q3FY17 was 94% as against 93% during
Q3FY16.
