Soil test, on-the-ground survey on for bullet train project in Gujarat

Surat: Survey teams are working on Ahmedabad – Mumbai bullet train project in villages through the proposed stretch locations to make decision on final ground alignment of route. One such team of Gurugram-Haryana based company reached Vadsangad and Khergam areas of Gandevi taluka in South Gujarat on Friday. The company has been assigned the tasks of soil test and location survey by New Delhi based traffic executive of Railway Board and director of National High Speed Corporation Ltd. The team with permission letter of Navsari district collector Ravikumar Arora conducted ground survey. Driven by curiosity, locals led by village sarpanch gathered and inquired about the procedure. They were told that the team was conducting survey and soil test to make assessment on the strength of land. 300-ft land through which the pillars will be built will be decided later.
