Junagadh- A budget of of Rs 290. 54 crore for FY 2017-18 was tabled in Junagadh Municipal Corporation today. It has an estimate of Rs 96.403 crore revenue income and Rs 194.5 crore capital income.
Rajkot- A married women Parul Makwana, was hacked to death by his alleged lover in Jetpur town today. The killer who had reportedly committed the crime after learning about her another love affair, has been nabbed.
Ahmedabad, A local court today sentenced 3 accused of a murder case with lifer. They had killed a man allegedly involved in illicit liquor trade in Shahibag area in 2015 after an altercation.
Anand, Amul dairy will increase the procurement price by Rs 10 per kg fat. The new price per kg fat would be 610 from February 11 instead of existing Rs 600. With these the milk sellers would see a total increase of Rs 40 per kg fat in last around 3 months.
Rajkot- Nursing staff of Sterling hospital in Rajkot today went on strike and protest demanding increase in Salary. Police detained some of the protestors.
Rajkot- Police was investigating a case of rape and loot with a 75 year old woman in Fareni road of Dhoraji. The culprit entered her house with a dagger and raped her and decamped with Rs 10000.
Surat- Surat Police today formally arrested PAAS activist Vijay Mangukia in connection with the case of throwing ink and creating ruckus in the rally of BJYM state president Rutviz Patel. He was arrested soon after his discharge from SMIMER hospital here where he was under treatment for injuries sustained owing to angry reaction of BJYM cadres.
Kutch- Weather in parts of Kutch and Saurashtra today saw some change owing to an upper air cyclonic circulation which lead to light rain and gusty wind in Lakhpat, Naliya and some other areas of Kutch, apart from Devbhoomi Dwarka and Porbandar. Temperatures in these areas saw some drop however at many places across the state remained above normal. Ahmedabad recorded a maximum and minimum temperature of 30.6 ° C and 17.2 °C which was1.4 and 4.2 °C above normal.
Ahmedabad, Students of Nirma University here held demonstration today to protest the decision of the management to announce holiday on second and fourth Saturday of every month. They participated in the protest wearing black dresses.
Rajkot- A youth died after falling from the 4 th floor of Aalekh apartment on Sadhu Vasvani road here. Police was investigating whether the youth, a resident of Mavadi, working under a CA for the last two years has committed suicide or it was an accidental death or murder.
