Driving in BRTS lane to attract six-month jail, Rs 1,000 fine in Surat

Surat: Driving in dedicated lane for Bus Rapid Transit System(BRTS) in Surat will attract six month jail and Rs 1,000 fin in Surat.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police(DCP) (Traffic Branch) in Surat Police Mr. R.F.Sangada, those found driving vehicles in dedicated BRTS lane will be booked under Motor Vehicle Act, section 279 under which there’s provision of upto six month imprisonment and Rs 1,000 fine. So far actions were taken under section 188 and 119 pertaining to breach of public notification.
