Gujarat CM visits avalanche victim Indian Army martyr Sunil Patel’s family, hands over relief cheque

Gandhinagar, February 6, 2017: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today visited Indian Army’s martyr Sunil Patel’s residence at Orwada in Panchmahals district, comforted the bereaved family, paid his condolence and offered flowers before his portrait.
Mr. Rupani handed over a cheque of Rs.2.51-lakh to his wife as the state government’s assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. He handed over a cheque of another Rs. one lakh collectively raised by the Baria community.
He released a book, titled ‘Gatha Gujarat’, in praise of the martyrs.
The Chief Minister said the 51 Rashtriya Rifles’ jawan Sunil Patel’s martyrdom in the avalanche while on the onerous duty of protecting our borders in the Kashmir-Siachin sector should instill patriotism among the youth.
Mr. Rupani was accompanied by Minister of State for Health Shankarbhai Chaudhry, Minister of State for Roads & Building Jaydrathsinh Parmar, MLA Nimishaben, office-bearers, District Collector, District Police Superintendent and other officers to pay their condolences.
