Ahmedabad: In a conversation with Japanese media regarding proposed Ahmedabad-Mumbai High Speed rail project(bullet train project), Ahmedabad Mayor and Municipal Commissioner said lot of people who travel between Ahmedabad and Mumbai by air or by road will divert to bullet train option.

They said the bullet train will take only little more time to reach Mumbai compared to flights. The bullet train will make journey between two cities faster, safer and smoother. The bullet train will take only two hours to reach Mumbai. The last station of bullet train will be Bandra which means it will offer direct connectivity straight to the city center. The bullet train will be very useful for Gujaratis settled in Mumbai and Gujarat on various social occasions. Passengers who use highway will divert to bullet train travel which will result into lesser number of road accidents. Bullet train will develop energy efficient and lower carbon road based transport system which shall be good for environment. It will uplift overall image of Ahmedabad which will help to attract investors to city. With operation of bullet train, new technology oriented industry will develop in Ahmdabad offering jobs to youths. Bullet train will cut to/from airport journey time.
