Congress MLA Shaktisinh, others get ‘threat messages from Ravi Pujari gang’

Gandhinagar: Four MLAs of Gujarat Congress including national spokesperson of party Shaktisinh Gohil have claimed they received ransom and threat from gangster Ravi Pujari. MAL CK Raulji, another MLA Amit Chavda and MLA from Jam Khambhalia are among other MLAs who have also received threat.

The source number is +44 7440190035 from which threat was issued to MLAs. The text message reads: 10 crore dai nehi to counsleer Pragnesh Patel ko esa mera logon ne goli mar dia wesa he tera ko be mar dain gay Don Ravi Pujari. (give me Rs 10 crore or you will be killed like Councillor Pragnesh Patel – Ravi Pujari).

It should be mentioned that Anand based Pragnesh Patel was shot at by members of Ravi Pujari gang. Accused in this case were held by Gujarat Police while master mind who had given supari to Ravi Pujari gang was held from Thailand.

Leader of Opposition Shankersinh Vaghela raised the issue in the assembly. Speaker Ramanlal Vora permitted discussion on this matter post question hour.

Shankersinh while speaking to media persons said: one and half month ago, Gurudas Kamat received threat call from Ravi Pujari in Mumbai. He had spoken to Police Commissioner. Three days ago Shaktisinh Gohil told me that he too had received threat but he didn’t wish to discuss it as it would spread fear. CK Raulji too has received such call now. There should be probe into this.

There have been total 11 cases filed against Ravi Pujari for extortion threat. Nationwide there are about 40 such cases filed. Ravi Pujari is based abroad.

It is learnt, Police prima faciely believed that someone else might be using Ravi Pujari’s name for making mischief. Police is therefore in process to match voice samples of Ravi Pujari with the voice in threat calls received by Congress leaders.
