Devotees offer puja in temples across Gujarat on Faguni Poonam

Vadodara/Rajkot/Aravalli: Devotees today thronged various temples across Gujarat on the occasion of Fagani Poonam (full moon day of Fagun month of Gujarati calender).
Amid tight security and other arrangements thousands of devotees had darshans of lord Ranchhod rai ji at famous Dakor temple in central Gujarat where a three day Faguni poonam mela (fair) that began yesterday would culminate tomorrow on the occasion of Dhuleti. Large number of people reached Dakor on foot with flags meant to be hoisted on the temple top. Temple office superintendent Rakeshbhai Dave said that the timing of the temple for the three days of the fair has been modified and it is kept open for the visitors till late in the night agaist the usual closure of 0730 pm.
In Shamlaji temple in Aravalli district in North Gujarat also large number of devotees including the administator of of the union territory of Diu, Praful Patel had darshan.
In Dwarka people perfomred puja and darshan at world famous jagat temple and other temples after taking holy dip in river Gomati.
In other temples including the one at Bahucharaji, Ambaji temple, Salangpur Hanuman temple also large number of devotees attended pujas and aartis on the occasion.
Hare Krishna Mandir, Bhadaj celebrated the day as Gaura Purnima Mahotsav on marking the auspicious appearance day of Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (who is also known as Gauranga due to His golden complexion), and this year is the 531st anniversary of His appearance. This festival also marks the beginning of the new year for Gaudiya Vaishnavas.
