Pakistani boat with 9 on board nabbed off Gujarat coast

Bhuj: The Indian Coast guard has reportedly nabbed a Pakistani fishing boat from Indian waters of the Arabian sea close to the International Maritime Border Line (IMBL) off the Jakhau coast of Kutch district in Gujarat today.

All the around 9 fishermen aboard the boat have also been caught. Some fishing equipment, fish and other non-objectionable items have been recovered from them.

Coast guard and other security agencies would interrogate them in detail even though they prima facie seems to be ordinary fishermen who had ventured in to Indian waters to catch fish, a coastguard official said.

Notably, in January/February this year altogether 4 such abandoned boats were found in the marshy sir creek area in Kutch district. One boat was found abandoned on February 2, two during UAV based aerial surveillance the day before and one on January 31. Fishing equipment, diesel cans, mobile phones, clothing etc were found in them.
