9,763 houses built in Gujarat in 3 years with Rs. 62.5 crore Central IHSDP assistance

New Delhi: Under Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP), the central government has provided central assistance of Rs62.5 crore for building total 9,763 housing units in Gujarat in last three years. The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Shri Rao Indrajit Singh informed Rajya Sabha on March 30, 2017 in a reply to the question raised by Rajya Sabha member Shri Parimal Nathwani.

According to the statement of the minister, the central government has approved total 39 housing projects in 19 districts of the State. The highest 4 projects each have been approved in Anand, Rajkot, Surendranagar and Vadodara districts.

Shri Nathwani wanted to know about the progress of Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP) in Jharkhand and Gujarat, the details of work done by Government for development of slums and the amount allocated and utilized for that purpose during the above period.
