Over 15 events to mark state-level Gujarat Foundation Day celebrations in Ahmedabad

Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will give his message to the people highlighting the state’s development through people’s participation on the eve of Gujarat Foundation Day on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from Ahmedabad Doordarshan at 6.40 p.m. and from All India Radio at 7.30 p.m.

Even as the state’s foundation on May 1, 1960 is being celebrated across the state as ‘Gujarat Divas’ for the last one week, over 15 events are lined-up to mark the state level ‘Gujarat Divas’ being held this year in Ahmedabad district on Sunday, April 30 and Monday, May 1, 2017.

The Chief Minister accompanied by his ministerial colleagues and prominent leaders will attend various functions, including dedicating a number of projects to the people of the state.

On April 30, Mr. Rupani will address a youth conference at Viramgam at 11 a.m., dedicate new building at Circuit House Annexe at 3 p.m., housing colonies at Nikol and Kathwas at 3.30 pm, inspect newly constructed AUDA housing project at 4 p.m. and then handover EWS and LPG quarters, flag off boat race at Sabarmati Riverfront at 5.30 p.m. and perform the groundbreaking ceremony of Police Commissioner Office at 6.30 p.m.

Mr. Rupani will begin his Gujarat Divas celebrations by offering tribute to Mahagujarat Andolan leader Induchacha at his statue at 8.30 a.m. and at Shahid Smarak, inaugurate Home Guard Bhavan at 8.45 a.m., address a public meeting after offer tribute to Sardar Patel at his statue at Sardar Baug at 8.50 a.m. and, and flag off Shravan Teerth from Jagannath Mandir at 9.30 a.m.

He will inaugurate the OPD Building at Sola Civil Hospital at 10.30 a.m., inaugurate new government office and residential blocks at Vastrapur at 11.30 a.m., inaugurate the annual Book Fair at GMDC Convention hall at 12 noon and then multilevel parking at Navrangpura, inaugurate new buildings at Asarwa Civil Hospital premises at 3.30 p.m., inaugurate LIG housing colony at Chandkheda at 4.30 p.m.

The events galore will culminate with inspection of parade along with the Governor at Sabarmati Riverfront at 5.30 p.m. and attending the variety cultural programme at GMDC ground at 7 p.m.
