Railway Minister in Gujarat launches a new train, rail infra projects

Ahmedabad:Union Railway minister Suresh Prabhu today launched Rs 235 crore works for four railway over bridges in Valsad district of South Gujarat via e-medium. Railway minister also flagged off Ahmedabad – Chennai Humsafar Express train from Motivada in Valsad district via e-medium. The train departed from Ahmedabad railway station. The train offers luxury experience to everybody as it has 3rd AC coaches. The train also has fire announcement system and CCTV camera.

Railway minister via e-medium performed bhoomi pujan for over bridges at Mohangam(crossing number 77) Rs 84 crore, Dungri(crossing 102) Rs 60 crore, Motivada (crossing 81 Balitha approach road) Rs 50.62 crore and Motivada (crossing 88 Motivada-Palsana road) Rs 40 crore.

Speaking at Motivada Koli community vaadi in Valsad district, railway minister said the Congress led UPA government had made provision of Rs 588 crore for Gujarat during 2009-2014 while the present government led by Shri narendra Modi has made provision of Rs 2,467 crore in last two years and created facilities, brought regularity, safety, speed and infrastructure in rail sector.

Prabhu said the highest budget in the history of Gujarat has been allocated in year 2017-18 in rail sector.

Prabhu admired Gujarat and said Gujarat has given Narendra Modi to India so that the entire country can have benefit of development similar to Gujarat.

Prabhu said laying of double railway line has been completed in 16,500 km area in two and half years. Railway has made Rs 8,50,000 crore plan to create more facilities. Complete electrification of railways will be achieved in next five years. Meter gauge railway will be converted to broad gauge and covered under electrification drive.

Railway minister also dedicated foot over bridge at Bhestan station.

Speaking on this occasion, Valsad MP Dr. KC Patel demanded extension of Gujarat Queen train to Vapi.

Prabhu also inaugurated Coach guidance system and extension of platform shed on platform number one at Sabarmati meter gauge station.

Prabhu dedicated doubling of Vasadva – Dhrangadhra – Chuli stretch of Viramgam – Samkhiali section, doubling of Chalthan – Bardoli stretch of Udhna – Jalgaon section.

 

Humsafar Express

 

Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Minister of Railways Flagged off new Ahmedabad – Chennai Superfast Humsafar Weekly Express (Via Vasai Road) today from Ahmedabad, through video conferencing, in a function at Udvada,Gujarat. In its inaugural run, the train will depart from Ahmedabad on Tuesday, 2nd May, 2017 at 15.30 hours as Humsafar Superfast Special Train with the train No. 09432, it will arrive at Vasai Road at 22.05 on the same day and reach Chennai the next day at 22.35 hrs. In its return journey,it will depart as train No. 09431 Chennai-Ahmedabad Super Fast Humsafar Special train from Chennai at 19.00 hrs on Tuesday, 4th may,2017 and reach Ahmedabad at 02.05 hrs on 6th may,2017.

As a regular service, Train No. 22920 Ahmedabad – Chennai Humsafar Superfast Weekly Express will depart from Ahmedabad at 15.30 hrs o¬n every Monday from 8th May, 2017, will arrive at Vasai Road at 22.05 hrs the same day and reach Chennai at 22.35 hrs. the next day (Tuesday).

In return direction, Train No. 22919 Chennai – Ahmedabad Humsafar Superfast Weekly Express will depart from Chennai at 20.10 hrs o¬n every Wednesday from 10th May, 2017, will arrive at Vasai Road at 21.15 hrs the next day (Thursday) and will reach Ahmedabad at 03.15 hrs. on the third day (Friday).

The train will halt at Vadodara, Surat, Vasai Road, Panvel, Pune, Solapur, Gulbarga, Raichur, Guntakal and Renigunta stations in both directions. The train will have AC III Tier Class coaches and Pantry Car.

The booking for the inaugural run of Train No. 09432 Ahmedabad – Chennai Humsafar Superfast Special train opened on 2nd May, 2017 at all PRS counters. Similarly, booking for the regular Train No. 22920 Ahmedabad – Chennai Superfast Humsafar Weekly Express will open from 3rd May, 2017.
