Woman who ‘honey-trapped Valsad MP for Rs 5 crore’ arrested, sent on five-day remand

New Delhi: The Delhi Police today arrested a woman from Ghaziabad who had allegedly honey-trapped a Lok Sabha MP elected from Gujarat and demanded Rs five crore from him. According to police, accused woman was involved in similar cases earlier. It is learnt that last year one Rajya Sabha MP from Haryana had been ready to pay Rs 1.5 crore to same woman in similar case. The woman had accused Haryana MP of rape but later retracted in court when her statement was to be recorded before magistrate under section 164, possibly after she received money.

K.C. Patel, the Lok Sabha MP from Valsad in South Gujarat had filed a complaint with the police last week. According to police, Patel had alleged the woman invited him to a place in Ghaziabad for some work where she offered him a soft drink which was laced with sedatives. Patel had claimed that he was drugged and obscene videos and photos were captured by accused woman.

Following Patel’s complaint, the woman had approached a city court, claiming the police did not act on her rape complaint against Patel. The woman had alleged that Patel raped her on several occasions at his flat in Delhi.

Police is investigating about other gang members involved in this racket. Police is also probing who were other politicians who were honey trapped by this woman and her gang.

Accused woman would somehow manage to invite MPs to her house and install CCTV cameras at her home. She would then give spiked drink to MP and make obscene video, only to blackmail and seek money from victim MP. Accused woman had last year filed complaint of rape against Rajya Sabha MP from Haryana in Tilaknagar police station in Delhi. She however reversed her allegations when her statement under section 164 was to be noted before magistrate.

Update: The woman has been sent on five day police custody(remand) by court
