135 villages in parched Kutch-Saurashtra region of Gujarat declared scarcity-hit

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government today declared 135 villages of parched Saurashtra and Kutch region of the state as scarcity-hit.
After the meeting of the related sub committee its head and revenue minister of Gujarat Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said that the government has decided to declare 135 villages of Kutch and neighbouring Surendranagar district as scarcity hit of which 86 were in Lakhpat taluka (Kutch), 32 in Nakhatrana (Kutch) and 17 in Sayla (Surendranagar).
The government has allotted 17 lakh kg of grass/fodder for the cattle in the scarcity-hit areas of water scant regions. It has also arranged 160 odd water tankers for water supply in the villages, the minister said.
