Pakistan reportedly captures 5 Indian boats off Gujarat coast, blast in engine of one boat

Porbandar: Pakistan Marine Security Agency (PMSA) today again reportedly captured at least 5 Indian boats and around 30 fishermen aboard near International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) in the Arabian sea off the Jakhau coast of Gujarat.

National Fish Workers Forum Secretary Manish Lodhari said that he has reports of the capture of 5 boats of Porbandar by Pak Marines. There were around 30 fishermen on board these boats. ‘We are trying to confirm the reports,’ he said.

Meanwhile unconfirmed reports said that the engine of one of the five boats blasted while all the five captured boats were being taken to Karachi. However, around half a dozen Indian fishermen aboard the boat were rescued safely.

Notably Pakistan has in last two months alone has captured around Indian 45 boats with over 250 fishermen. On April 26 and 27 this year they had caught 5 boats and 30 fishermen.

Pak Marines had released the six boats and over 40 fishermen which were nabbed by PMSA near International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) in the Arabian sea off the Jakhau coast of Gujarat on April 9 following sinking of one of their speed boats and help by captured Indian fishermen in rescue of their men.
