Mundra APMC starts exporting pomegranate containers to Gulf countries

Bhuj: A container full of pomegranate was exported from Kutch to Dubai using a 20 tonne capacity storage facility at Mundra.
Religious customs were performed while flagging off the first consignment of pomegranate from Mundra APMC where 20 tonne storage facility has been set up for storage of agriculture produce.
The plan is to collect the stock of pomegranate from Nakhatrana, Mandvi and other talukas of Kutch district at Mundra APMC yard and pack them in attractive boxes to export to Dubai.
According to Manojbhai Kotak of Sai Shipping who is associated with the chain serving pomegranate product, everyday one container of pomegranate will be exported to Gulf countries initially. One container contains 15 tonne pomegranate in 5000 boxes, each box of 3 kg weight.
