81.89% result for class 12 science exam, better than last year, Botad best performer, Chhota Udepur worst

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) today declared the results of Class 12 science examination conducted by it in March this year in which 81.89% of the examines have passed this year which was higher than that of 79.03% of last year.

Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma announced the results in a press conference here.

The results have also been put on the official website of the board ie www.gseb.org since 10am. The distribution of mark-sheets would be done through the respective district centers from 11 am today.

Out of a total of 1.41 lakh registered candidates, around 1. 38 lakh had appeared in the exam this year.

The minister said that the pass percentage for girl was 81.60% (compared to last year’s 80.95%) while that for boys was higher this time around at 82.06% (compared to 77.97% of last year).

Botad with 94.02% was the best result giving district (Last year it was Rajkot with 93.93%). Chota Udepur was again the worst performer with 51.54% (though better than last year’s 37.52%). Gondal was the best center again with 98.77% (last year 97.17%) . Center wise Silvassa was the worst performer with 39.09% while Limkheda was the poorest performer last year with 22.61%). Ahmedabad city has a pass percentage of 85.98. Ahmedabad rural had out performed the city with 90.26%.
Among other prominent districts Rajkot has 93.24% result, Vadodara 81.33% , Surat 86.72%, Junagadh 91.06% and Gandhinagar 86.52%.

English Medium candidates have a pass percentage of 84.87% as compared to 86.47% of last year while Gujarati medium candidates have improved from last years 77.62% to 81.61% this year.

A total of 118 schools have given 100% result as compared to 99 of last year. 579 students have passed with A1 grade and 5189 with A 2 grade this year. The pass percentage of A, B and AB group is 84.81, 79.35 amd 86.36% respectively.
