Chattisgarh holds road show cum seminar in Ahmedabad

Gandhinagar: Chhattisgarh today organized a symbolic road show and state seminar here today to attract new investments in electronics and engineering sector leveraging State’s untapped potential in the sector.
A senior delegation of Government of Chhattisgarh led by Minister, Commerce & Industries Amar Agrawa participated in the seminar along with Chhagan Lal Mundra, Chairman, Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC), Sunil Mishra, Managing Director, CSIDC and Kartikeya Goel, Director Industries.

The seminar was organised jointly by Government of Chhattisgarh and FICCI to attract new investments in electronics and engineering sector. Top executives from companies from Western India participated in the event.

A presentation citing details about Chhattisgarh, opportunities in electronics and engineering space, relevant policies of the State Government and industrial regions for investment was made by Goel. Addressing about 100 representatives from over 35 companies from Gujarat, Mr. Goel touched upon all important aspects influencing investment decision in electronics and engineering domains.

Agarwal in his address briefed about the State and shared his vision for industrial development and investment opportunities in Electronics & Engineering sector. He also detailed about post GST opportunities in manufacturing state like Chhattisgarh. He said, under the able leadership of Dr. Raman Singh, Chhattisgarh has been able to attain all round development in last 13 years. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inducing new energy in industrial sector in India through his initiatives like Make in India, Skill India, and Digital India etc. He also gave the audience specific reasons to do business in Chhattisgarh and elaborated on its success in Ease of Doing Business, Low cost of doing business, skilled manpower, best in class industrial atmospheres, social infrastructure, Smart City ‘The Naya Raipur’ and reiterated State’s commitment to support and develop industries in sunrise sectors like Electronics, Defence manufacturing, heavy engineering, railways, Food Processing, IT & ITeS, etc. He invited investors to visit the State and witness industrial environment in Chhattisgarh. He mentioned that Chhattisgarh was committed to promote ESDM and engineering sectors in the State and was establishing a Green field Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) at Naya Raipur in Sector 22. This cluster is being set-up as per the EMC scheme of Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Government of India. Agrawal also highlighted that there is a huge demand for electronics products in Chhattisgarh.

Agrawal appraised the investors about steps taken by the government to increase the use of Information Technology and new emerging technologies in the State. He informed the investors about recently launched SKY (Sanchar Kranti Yojana) in which 45 Lakhs smart phones are to be distributed to youth and women in the state. Under SKY new mobile towers will also be set up for providing mobile connectivity to all parts in state. He also talked about Bastar Net under which 7 districts of Bastar region would be provided high speed internet connectivity with laying of optical fibre network of 900 km. He also mentioned that being mineral rich State, Chhattisgarh has huge potential in engineering domain as well. To tap investments in engineering sector, State has established Engineering Park spread over 300 acres in Bhilai which focuses on precision engineering, engineering products, machine tools, auto components, casting and forging units.
