PM stops convoy, shifts it to side-lane in Gandhinagar to give priority to ambulance

Gandhinagar: Putting the SPG security protocols aside, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today stopped his convoy and shifted it to the side lane on Gandhinagar – Ahmedabad road in order to allow an ambulance to go ahead on priority.

After completing the African Development Bank event and other engagements in Gandhinagar, the Prime Minister was running far behind his schedule. However this did not deter him when his convoy was passing through the roads & he spotted an ambulance. In order to give priority to ambulance which was probably carrying a patient, the Prime Minister immediately directed his staff to shift the entire convoy to the side lane and stop. The ambulance was given priority to move ahead.

In a historic decision, the Prime Minister had recently taken a decision to remove red beacon lights from all VIP vehicles across the country in order to say good-bye to VIP culture. In April this year, Prime Minister went to the airport in peak traffic to receive his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina, setting aside protocol of traffic restrictions. He traveled from Lok Kalyan Marg to Delhi airport in normal traffic. There are numerous example of him traveling in a metro so that the public faces no inconvenience.

Thus the Prime Minister proved once again that he practices what he preaches. His set a perfect example, true to his mantra of ‘Every Person is Important’ today!
