One nabbed for hurling bangles at textile minister Smriti Irani at Liliya

Amreli: Police today nabbed a youth who tried to create ruckus in a meeting of union textile minister Smriti Irani here by hurling bangles at her and shouting slogans.

A local youth identified as Ketan Kaswana (probably Congress supporting Patidar agitation group cadre) hurled bangles during the very well attended ‘Sauno Saath Sauno Vikas’ gathering at Farmers training center (Khedut Talim Kendra) in Liliya road here while one of the very good orators in BJP Smt Smriti Irani was addressing it.

Kaswana stunned everyone there when he suddenly stood up during Irani’s address and hurled bangles towards Irani. He started shouting slogans like ‘waive the farmers loans’ when police nabbed him and took away. When he threw the bangles Irani incidentally was speaking about farmer’s welfare steps of the government.

It’s worth noting that loan waivers is Congress poll plank in Gujarat. Recently neighboring Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra have witnessed very ghastly violent protests on this issue triggered by Congress leaders. Congress wants to push Gujarat to same violence. The party has already declared road blockade agitation across Gujarat on June 16th.

When police was taking away the agitator, Smriti indicating that this act was apparently done for a photograph and video footage, said from mic, ‘let him continue to sit here. His photographs are already captured.’

Irani later continued her speech.

Notably, some Congress supporting Patidar quota agitation leaders through publication of video on social media yesterday had announced to protest against Irani here by throwing bangles.

Irani had earlier participated in similar event in Keshod of Junagadh.

Congress cadres involved in Patidar agitation have previously purposefully disturbed various BJP functions with symbolic and at times full-scale protests. Such protesters get fame and respect among fellow agitators on Facebook pages and groups doing constant anti-BJP propaganda. Such protesters are always released by police/court after brief detention of arrest. In last such incident, one Bhavesh Sonani from Bhavnagar had hurled a shoe at MoS Mansukh Mandavia at Botad. He was released later and felicitated by pro-Congress Patidar quota agitation leader Hardik Patel at his Bhesan function. Later, Mandavia supporters joined by local citizens had organized three mute rallies against such act.

The anti-BJP undisciplined hooligans in the garb of one community and in the name of quota agitation with apparent backseat driving by main opposition party Congress in the election year in Gujarat have become so vicious and shameless that even a woman minister faces such behavior which is completely against the culture and traditions of Gujarat and totally unacceptable. Till the time, wise people of Gujarat level the things by casting their vote in December this year, more such dirty acts of indiscipline are expected to happen.
