PM Modi’s 8 km long road-show in Rajkot tomorrow not to be cancelled even if it rains:BJP

Gandhinagar/Rajkot: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s second road show in his home state Gujarat this year, to be held in Rajkot tomorrow will not be cancelled even if rain takes place as predicted by Met department, spokesperson of state BJP Bharat Pandya today said.

Pandya today said that the road show of Modi ji won’t be ‘hindered’ even if rain takes place.

‘Modi ji is coming to Gujarat soon after the very successful trip of three countries including US, where he got 9 standing ovations during his speech. People here are eager to welcome their beloved leader. Though rain is still only a prediction and we don’t know if it would actually take place but even if it showers, it won’t dampen the spirits of people in Rajkot who would be there in large numbers to welcome Modi ji for the road show,” the BJP spokesperson said.

Meanwhile BJP’s Rajkot city president Kamlesh Mirani also said that the road show would be on even if it rains heavily. ‘The road show is on even if it rains or storms,’ he said.

The around 8 km long road show led by around 10000 bikers would start from Aaji dam after his public meeting to reach Airport via Amul circle, Chunaravad Chowk, Deluxe Cinema, Keshare Hind bridge, Hospital Chowk, Bahumali Chowk, Zila Panchayat Chowk, Kishanpara and Mayor Bungalow. It will most likely start at around 5 pm and conclude by 8 to 830 pm.

The met department has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in parts of Saurashtra even as the city has already witnessed some good showers this monsoon.

Earlier on April 16 this year, an ‘unprecedented’ road show of PM Modi in the diamond city of Surat was witnessed by lakhs of people eager to have a glimpse of their leader. The 12 km long route of the road-show was from Airport to Circuit house. People on the road-side as well as in the buildings close-by stood shouting slogans like Modi-Modi and Bharat Mata Ki Jai (Long-live Mother India) cheered up the prime minister who all thorough the road show stood in his vehicle whose roof was opened for him. Around 25000 motorcycles had also participated in his road show.

Minister of state for home Pradipsinh Jadeja had visited Rajkot yesterday to take stock of the security arrangements for various events including the road-show.

Meanwhile, Pandya said that PM Modi on his 2 day Gujarat visit would arrive Ahmedabad first. He would participate in the centenary event of the Sabarmati Ashram and also release a coin and postal stamp in the memory of Mahatma Gandhi Shrimad Rajchandra ji. Later he would move to Rajkot where he would be accorded a warm welcome at the airport. He would directly go to the racecourse ground to participate in an event to distribute aid kits to over 18000 divyangs. At least 4 world record’s will be created during the event. He will then go to Aaji-1 dam to attend the function to welcome the arrival of Narmada water there under SAUNI scheme PM Modi will address a public meeting near Aaji dam likely to be attended by over one lakh people.

On June 30, the PM will dedicate a water supply scheme in Modasa, the headquarter town of Aravalli district and also participate in an event of youths in the Transstadia in his former assembly constituency Maninagar in Ahmedabad. He will also inaugurate a textile conference and exhibition at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.

Notably assembly polls are to be held in Gujarat this year. This will be Modi’s fourth visit of his home state this year and 10th in last around 11 months. He had last visited Gujarat in May this year.
