Official note on latest relief actions in flood-affected Banakantha and Patan districts

Gandhinagar: The government body along with the help of voluntary organization is working for the rescue and relief of the affected people in the district of Patan due to the recent floods caused by heavy rains.

In order to ensure that the people have a provision of the basic facilities, as many as 5,13,529 food packets , 6,48,261 water pouches along with 9,446 packets of other necessary items have been distributed till date.

The work related to taking care of the deceased livestock in the region has been taken care of by the Patan District administration under the direct supervision of the Ministers of the Government of Gujarat. 170 people in charge of taking care of their livestock have been given an immediate aid of Rs. 31.30 lakh to manage their dead livestock. A total aid of Rs.33.65 lakhs have been provided to 928 people who lost basic things required for day to day activities while a sum of Rs. 71.59 lakh as cash dolls aid has been given to 15549 people by the administration.

After the survey of 437 households by the District administration, an immediate aid of Rs. 2.43 lakhs has been given to 27 people who lost their homes during the calamity. Along with this, the survey work related to the 1, 59,250 acres of land that has been run off by the flood waters has also been started by the administration as mentioned in the press note of the District Collector.

Banaskantha

As a part of the work related to evacuating people in the flood affected district of Banaskantha, the administration has provided an aid of Rs. 1.15 crores to 20,751 people in the urban areas and an aid of Rs. 3.80 crores to the 65,731 people in the rural areas; the total amount being Rs.4.95 crores in the form of cash dolls aid.

In the same manner, an aid of Rs. 3.80 crores have been provided to 9811 people in the rural areas and an aid of Rs.1.50 crores have been provided to 3035 people in urban areas for ensuring the necessity items of day to day activities; the total aid being Rs. 5.30 crores to 11,946 people.

The government has provided an aid of Rs.48.41 lakhs due to the death of 241 livestock. The 2309 trips of the S.T buses have now been started along with re-establishing the power supply in all the areas.

16,583 ration kits have been distributed by the administration and 4299 people have been provided with the necessary treatment. Moreover, chlorine tablets have been distributed in the affected areas as well.

A total of 58 J.C.B, 20 pumps, 74 tractors along with 34 dumpers and 1000 workers are on their toes for ensuring cleanliness in the urban areas. In the same manner, the cleaning work in 547 villages and 3541 gullies have been taken up by 56 J.C.B, 98 tractors and 788 workers. Spraying of medicines, distributions of tablets and solid waste management has also been taken up by the government bodies.

4, 35,122 kg of fodder has been distributed for the livestock in addition to an aid of 50 lakh kg of fodder from the government.

The survey related to the damaged houses and huts has been going on in full force. In addition to all these, a total of 78283 people have been provided with meals through 167 camps in the region as mentioned in the press note of the District Collector.
