IAF static public display of arsenals also highlights flood operation in Gujarat

Jamnagar: Air Force Station Jamnagar, which actively participated in the flood relief operations in Gujarat recently, organized a static display of various assets of the Indian Air Force for general public particularly, school children today.
In the event organized as a part of Independence Day Celebrations 2017 under the theme ‘Know Your Forces’, kiosks were also set up to provide information on themes like Aerospace Safety, highlighting IAF’s role in aid to civil authorities through screening of movies particularly depicting its stellar role in recent flood relief operations carried out in Gujarat.
The event was conducted in two phases. In first phase from 10 am to 1 pm, static display of aircraft, visit to Motivational Hall, ATC complex, Missiles, RADARs, weapons and air armament were displayed. A publicity stall was also setup to create awareness on career prospects in the IAF. Alongside the static display, publicity kiosks were hoisted to provide information on themes like Aerospace Safety, highlighting IAF’s role in aid to civil authorities through screening of movies particularly depicting its stellar role in recent flood relief operations carried out in Gujarat.
In the second phase of the event, held in the evening at Lakhota Lake complex of Jamnagar town, the South Western Air Command Band presented a melodious concert on patriotic themes which was witnessed by general public in large numbers.
