AAP to contest Gujarat polls on selected seats; election fund will be raised locally
September 02, 2017
Ahmedabad: Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Admi Party(AAP) today made announcement that it will contest Gujarat elections this year.
‘We will have three criteria: 1. The assembly seat should have booth committee, 2. Each booth should have one incharge appointed and 3. Fund for campaign will be collected from within the assembly seat area which shall be used for that assembly seat area only. AAP will field its candidate in assembly segments that fulfill these three criteria,’ said Gujarat AAP incharge Gopal Rai.
Rai said, ‘we will focus our energy only on those seats where we find possibility to win. We will field candidates only on such seats.’
Rai said the decision to contest Gujarat polls has been taken after two-day long discussion with Gujarat team.
He said the party will launch its campaign on 17th of September with a road show in Ahmedabad.
In reply to question he clarified that Kejriwal was not going to come for the road show. Rai added that he himself will led the roadshow.

War room for election will be conducted from out State office with Asutosh Patel as incharge. Four-member committee will have Harshil Nayak, Anil Patel, Pranav Thakkar and other members.
