Ahmedabad: A citizen who suffered accident due to ‘damaged roads’ has sought compensation from civic body.
Devendra Shah, resident of KK Nagar in Ahmedabad was passing through Naranpura railway crossing area when his Honda Activa two-wheeler slipped due to uneven surface of road damaged by rain. Suffering from four fracture due to this incident, Shah would need 45-day bed rest. Shah is in process to go to court to seek Rs 1.15 lakh compensation as tax-payer. Shah’s lawyer Milap Shah said AMC is not providing basic facility to tax-payer citizens.
It should be noted that apparently due to corrupt practices and nexus between contractors and AMC officials/elected body, the roads in Ahmedabad are in poor shape following recent spells of rains. The worst sufferers are two-wheeler riders.
