Never miss an opportunity to meet my personal friend Abe:PM Modi

PM Narendra Modi today said that he never miss an opportunity to meet his personal friend and Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe and such meeting were helpful in issues related to bilateral relation.

He also termed his two day visit to Gujarat a very productive one.

Addressing the valedictory session of the two day 12 th India Japan annual summit here today in presence of Abe, PM Modi said,’ I don’t miss any opportunity to meet him in person. And such meetings were helpful in a number of ways including in many related with bilateral relationship.’ he said.

Earlier in the beginning of his address in Mahatma Mandir convention hall, he requested the audience of distinguished people including former CM, speaker, ministers and MLAs to give an standing ovation to his personal friend Abe which readily obliged.
He said that his earlier dream to see a mini Japan has become a reality. A large number of Japanese were now living happily in Gujarat and doing their business. Japan was the first country to be the partner company for the Vibrant Gujarat summit.

PM Modi said that 1.2 billion Indians have the same attachment for Japanese people as they have for their compatriots.

He said that the two countries today started work on Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project which was likely to be completed by 2022-23. A training institute for the same which would create highly skilled manpower to play a vital role in making new India would also be set up. 4 Japanese Industrial Township were also being set up in India in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu.

‘But there is a political and strategic side of this visit too. It was a very productive visit during which we have addressed some very important matters too,’ he said.

Elaborating on various steps India has taken for ease of doing business PM Modi said that in last 3 years India has taken a series of reform initiatives.

He also elaborated on the rise in India’s position in various index lists and said that while the new India was a global manufacturing hub, Japan can benefit tremendously from India’s development agenda. It would also be very beneficial for Japanese companies. PM Modi also said that the inflow in FDI from Japan in India has tripled in last three years.
